Los Gatos is one of the most historic towns in the San Francisco Bay Area. Los Gatos is in Santa Clara Valley, nestled in the foothills and slopes of the Santa Cruz Mountains. It is about 60 miles south of San Francisco and only 20 miles east of the Santa Cruz beach. The small-town appeal, upscale living, and straight access from surrounding highways make Los Gatos a desirable community to live in.

Downtown Los Gatos is lined with locally owned boutiques, artisanal home décor stores, and high-end art galleries. At Cotton Works, you will find handmade furniture and curated accessories. Kismet Boutique has trendy clothing and shoes for women.
 
Los Gatos has two Michelin Star restaurants. Manresa is one of the most highly regarded establishments in the Bay Area, distinguished for its chef David Kinch and its hospitality. Order the Chef’s Tasting Menu to experience the best the Chef has to offer. The Forbes Mill Steakhouse has Certified Angus Beef Prime steaks that are hand-selected and aged to perfection. Dio Deka is a Greek restaurant in the vine-covered Hotel Los Gatos. They have bone-in filet mignon along with Mediterranean Branzino and Moussaka Casserole. 
 
Residents head to Sara’s Southern Kitchen for a traditional Southern breakfast with waffles and fried chicken. Sara’s also has house-made, corned beef hash, crab benedicts, and grass-fed burgers
 
At Icing on the Cake bakery, the cakes are made from the most premium ingredients, like sweet butter, pure vanilla, and Guittard chocolate. Along with a scrumptious list of cakes, they have bread pudding, brownies, pies, and even some special treats for the four-legged family member.
 

Things to Do

The Los Gatos Creek Trail draws bikers and hikers year-round to the gentle five-mile terrain and the pond view. Families love the 45-acre Vasona Lake Park for picnics and paved paths following the Los Gatos Creek. The children can ride the Billy Jones Wildcat Railroad and play in the large playground. 
 
Los Gatos lights up for Christmas and the Annual Fantasy of Lights. It is one and a half miles of magical light displays. The annual Los Gatos Wine Walk in the fall brings the community out to enjoy the downtown area while sampling the best from local restaurants. Whatever the season, every day of the year in Los Gatos has plenty to entertain.
